Vibraphonist Dylan Bram allows his passion for the instrument to shine through in his playing. Channeling the technical wizardry of legendary vibist Gary Burton, the soulful bluesiness of Milt Jackson, and harmonic depth of Bobby Hutcherson, Bram flows effortlessly over the vibes, conjuring rich harmonies and showcasing the instrument’s unique, ethereal tone.

Testing Floor employ strong melodies, lush harmonies, and seasoned musicianship to create a vibe that is playful yet precise, and an atmosphere that soothes the spirit. Comprised of Columbus music scene veterans Liz Fisher (The Cordial Sins; Devi and Liz) and Phil Cogley (The Saturday Giant; Minnows; Sgt. Peppercorn’s Marathon), the duo perform stripped-down arrangements of pop and rock classics from the 1950s through the current era—and have plans to develop original material as well.

Current repertoire includes: A.A. Bondy, Beach House, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Bombay Bicycle Club, Bonnie Raitt, Bright Eyes, Deftones, Dinosaur Pile-Up, Elton John, The Everly Brothers, Fugazi, George Harrison, The Hollies, Iron & Wine, Japanese Breakfast, Jay Som, M. A dynamic acoustic duo, Straw & The Scarecrow fuses rich harmonies and magnetic energy to form an undeniable chemistry with their audience. Jeff is pure magic on the keys and guitar, and Paige holds down the rhythm while interlacing harmonies and a feisty attitude with Jeff’s angelic vocals. They play a mix of indie, folk, and rock tunes with a twist of lemon-lime. When they are not performing together, you can find Jeff laying down keys with local favorites The Devil Doves, and also fronting his own psych rock band, Sussman Can’t Sleep. Paige plays drums with the forest queens of Linden Hollow, in addition to the harmony-heavy Salty Caramels.
